MKB Euroleasing Sopron piled on the agony for Latvian strugglers TTT Riga on Wednesday in a Group B clash in Hungary.
Sopron only led 55-53 early in the fourth quarter but the visitors went nearly seven minutes without scoring a point and ended up losing 69-59.
The home side outscored them 12-0 in that decisive stretch.
Székely Norbert, the coach of MKB, felt the difference had been the team's willingness to play better defense in the second half.
"Our defense was very bad in the first half, but we found the right way after half-time and were able to play faster," he said.
Amber Holt finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for Sopron, who improved to 4-2 in Group B while Riga fell to 1-5.
Belarus international Tatyana Troina poured in 19 in defeat for Riga, who also got 10 points and 11 rebounds from Elizaveta Kityzina.
"I'm not happy," Riga captain Ieva Kublina said.
"We just slept in the third quarter and with this we also lost the game."
