Czech Republic: Taj Mc Williams Wins Player Of The Week Award

21 January 2005

Taj McWilliams produced probably her best performance in a Gambrinus Brno jersey this week in the EuroLeague Women to earn the Player of the Week title.

Brno defeated rivals Sopron 65-81 on the road and now occupy top spot in Group A.

McWilliams, who joined Brno in November, was everywhere for her team tallying 23 points and 15 rebounds in 37 minutes.

The victory was a welcome one for coach Jan Bobrovsky, who called it "the best away performance in the EuroLeague this season".

McWilliams has been in inspirational form for Brno since arriving from the WNBA's Conneticut Sun. She is leading the team in scoring (16 ppg), rebounds (9.2 rpg), blocked shots (1 bpg) and steals (2.2 spg).

Last season, Brno advanced to the EuroLeague Women Final Four but finished a dissapointing 4th. This year the Czech side will be looking to get to the Final Four for the 5th time in the club's history. They have yet to win the title, but with McWilliams on the roster, they will be hoping to bring home some European silverware for the first time ever.
