Italy: Zisis Makes Treviso Switch

19 July 2005

Benetton Treviso have signed Greek international Nikolaos Zisis from AEK Athens.

The 1.95m tall shooting guard has signed a three-year deal with the Italian giants.

Zisis is one of the most promising talents to have emerged from Greece in recent years and, despite being just 21, he has plenty of experience at club level, where he has played in five Euroleague campaigns, and also on the international scene.

Having played at every level for the national team, Zisis made his senior team debut at the Olympics in Athens, top scoring for the Greeks with 18 points in their defeat against European Champions Lithuania.

The Thessaloniki-born player also helped Greece to the silver medal in last month's Mediterranean Games.

Zisis becomes coach David Blatt's second signing since his arrival at Treviso in June, having already signed American playmaker Andrew Lawrence Nicholas.
