Solid Serbia Brush Aside Germany

4. Aleksandar Cvetkovic (Serbia)
Point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic was the conductor of a very solid perfomance by the Serbian orchestra Friday night in Kranjska Gora

Serbia continued their confident march in the U20 European Championship by brushing aside Germany, 69-45, on the second day of Group A action in Kranjska Gora.

The Balkan side dispelled any doubts their uneven performance in the opening day victory against Montenegro might had created with a solid, disciplined display.

The Germans started the game with a 5-0 run, but Serbia won the remainder of the first quarter, 18-4, and then went on dismantling the opponents in the rest of the game, with a 20-5 advantage in points off turnovers.

Bogdan Bogdanovic led Serbia with 21 points, making 5-of-8 shots from the three-point line, as Aleksandar Cvetkovic finished the game with 13 points and Djordje Drenovac chipped in with 10.

For Germany, Patrick Heckmann had a team-high 12 points while Philipp Neumann added 11.

Serbia will play France on the final gameday on Saturday, while Germany will attempt to secure a place in the next round against Montenegro.
