Germany punched their ticket to the quarter-finals and can still improve in the Group F standings if they win their final game against Ukraine

Germany booked a place in the U20 European Championship Quarter-Finals on Tuesday with a 74-59 victory against Russia in Group E, in Kranjska Gora.

Russia had a 23-19 lead midway through the second period, but Germany used their advantage down low to break the game.

The Germans in effect sealed the win with an 11-0 run that stretched over five minutes at the end of the third and the start of the fourth quarter.

Johannes Voigtmann scored 15 points for Germany, Patrick Heckmann had 12 points and five rebounds, while Daniel Theis chipped in with 11 points and six boards.

Vladislav Trushkin was the only Russian player in double digits with 11 points and six rebounds.

Russia shot the ball extremely poorly, finishing with 38.7 percent from the field.

The victory allowed Germany to improve to 3-1 in the Second Round and clinch the quarter-final berth.

Russia slumped to their second consecutive defeat and now have a 2-2 record.

The Germans will play Ukraine in the last game, while Russia will try to defeat Serbia.
