France have been forced into a late change to their roster for EuroBasket 2015 with Limoges guard Leo Westermann called up on the eve of their tournament opener against Finland in Montpellier.

The switch comes after Thomas Heurtel - who was originally drafted in to replace the injured Antoine Diot earlier this week - was declared unfit by his club, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, according to the FFBB.

23-year-old Westermann originally made his debut for Les Bleus in 2012 but made the last of his five previous appearances for the side in 2013 after being omitted prior to the team's training camp this summer.

"The main one was Antoine's injury - that really hurt us," said coach Vincent Collet.

"He's an important piece for us for his basketball ability and his spirit. But what happened with Thomas, we couldn't control. We were scared we would not get him before the deadline so we took what we think is a fair decision to bring in Leo."
