Ukraine topped Slovenia 97-79 in the 9-12 Classification Round game on Friday evening in Bilbao, Spain.
Thanks to the win Ukraine will take on Sweden tomorrow in the grand battle for the ninth spot.
Slovenia will hope to recover quickly to top Greece in the following day to avoid the 12th spot.
Oleksandr Lypovyy led the winners with 21 points and nine rebounds, Artem Pustovyi added 20 with four blocks and Olexandr Mishula scored a tournament high of 20 points as well.
Alen Omic had 25 points and 11 rebounds, Edo Muric added 16 and Marko Pajic finished with 13 points.
The first quarter saw both sides dedicate more energy on offense as Ukraine held a 28-27 lead.
Pustovyi and Mishula connected points to finish the first half with a 15-4 run and take a 51-46 lead after 20 minutes on the floor.
Mishula with a three pointer and Lypovyy down the road added another run, this time 13-2 to make it a 16 point game, 64-48 mid way in the third quarter.
Slovenia never recovered from that, and allowed Ukraine to take their biggest win of the championship.
