|Forward V'Yacheslav Bobrov had 18 points and eight rebounds for Ukraine|
Ukraine celebrated their first win in the Qualifying Round after a 79-73 victory over Greece on Wednesday evening action in Group F.
As a result of this win Ukraine took a 1-4 record in the group and finished fifth.
Greece fell to 1-4 as well and will grab the bottom spot in the group.
Both teams will continue the championship in the 9-12 Classification Round where Sweden and Slovenia will wait or them.
V'Yacheslav Bobrov had 18 points and eight rebounds for the winners, Andriy Lebedintsev added 12 while Artem Pustovyi and Oleksandr Lypovyy had 10 each.
Emmanouil Koukoulas and Dimitrios Katsivelis scored 22 points each for the losing side and Sokratis Psaropoulos added 12.
In the first two games in this round Ukraine entered the last minutes with a comfortable lead, but failed to keep it and suffered two losses that cost them the spot in the Quarter-Finals.
Today finally came the win, yet it wasn't too the scenario will happen once again.
Bobrov scored 12 points already in the first quarter while Greece collected only 11 and saw their opponent take a 21-11 gap
Filling in for the injured Linos Chrysikopoulos came in Koukoulas, who grouped points to cut the margin to just three, but now it was Pustovyi and Volodymyr Iegorov who made the run, and Ukraine held a 36-29 lead at the half time.
A great start for the second half allowed Ukraine to take a 52-30 lead after 25 minutes, and inside the last quarter it was still a 20 point lead, yet then, once again, things started to go wrong for Ukraine.
Koukoulas and Katsivelis led the Greeks to just four points behind, 74-70 with 41 seconds to play and put the game on the line, yet this time Ukraine held on to the lead and finished the round with a sweet taste.
After the rest day Ukraine will take on Slovenia while Greece and Sweden will match up in the second game of the 9-12 classification round.
