Greece Do It Again

15. Artemis Spanou (Greece)
Artemis Spanou was inspirational again with 16 points and 16 boards

Greece pulled off a second improbable comeback in less than 24 hours, rallying from 14 points down to edge Belarus 64-62 on Tuesday, further improving their chances of advancing to the quarter-finals at the U20 European Championship Women in Samsun.

Belarus used a 13-0 run in the first five minutes of the game to grab control, and midway through the second quarter they had a 32-18 advantage.

Belarus then kept a comfortable lead until late in the third quarter when Anna Stamolamprou got hot, nailing three triples to fuel Greek comeback.

In a thrilling final 30 seconds, Anastasia Slouka sunk a fastbreak triple for a 61-60 Greek lead, only for Hanna Kalenta to make a layup - and get fouled in the process - with 18 second to go, giving Belarus back the lead.

Kalenta, however, missed the additional free throw, before Anthoula Chatzigiakoumi nailed a game-winning triple from the right corner with 6.6 ticks left on the clock.

Darya Lipinskaya had a chance to tie on the final possession, but missed a driving layup as the Greek bench spilled onto the floor in jubilation.

Stamolamprou scored 15 of her 18 points in the second half, Artemis Spanou amassed 16 points and 16 rebounds, while game-hero Chatzigiakoumi finished with 10.

Maryia Papova had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Belarus.
