After three quarters of an intense and defensive dominated Second Round tussle against Serbia at the U20 European Championship Women, Turkey exploded during the final quarter to secure a 56-45 Group F success and preserve their unbeaten status.

In arguably the most keenly and fiercely contested game seen as yet in Debrecen, both teams were intent on locking each other down, each feasting on the intangibles and hustling all over the floor.

As a result, the first 30 minutes saw little in terms of quality offence or scoring but that did not make it anything less than completely compelling.

Just when it seemed destined to be decided in crunch time, Turkey found another gear and racked up a magnificent 20-8 last period to leave Serbia trailing.

It was still only a five point game with just over five minutes of the game remaining but successive triples by Ozge Kavurmacioglu and Ayse Cora broke the Serbians and in the end, Turkey rode out comfortable winners.

In addition to stroking one of the killer shots from downtown, Kavurmacioglu finished with a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Only Snezana Colic managed to attain double digits for the losing team, adding 11 rebounds to her 18 points.
