GAME REPORT

Biella Keep European Dream Alive

15. Benjamin Raymond (Bonprix Biella)
Benjamin Raymond came up big down the home straight for Bonprix Biella

Bonprix Biella have claimed another European scalp, this time coming from behind to defeat KTP-Basket 81-77, giving them wins over all three of their Group G opponents.

Playing in only their second game since the death of their manager Gabriele Fioretti, the Italian A2 Gold team fought back from a disastrous second period to take the lead for good on a Benjamin Raymond fast-break score with 32 seconds to play.

Leading 29-23 following the opening ten minutes of action, the home team fell apart offensively in the second frame, managing just seven points, of which only four would come from the floor.

At the other end of the court, Brandon Jefferson was hardly missing a beat, hitting four times from downtown on the way to amassing 23 first-half points as KTP-Basket went to the sheds leading 45-36.

However, momentum begun to swing to the hosts following the resumption of play as Alan Voskuil scored 10 points in less than five minutes to have his team back in the game, trailing by just eight, 49-57.

With the wind in their sails, Bonprix Biella continued to surge, Voskuil putting them within striking distance with a pair from the charity stripe to make it 65-69 with 06:39 to play. Raymond then came to the fore, scoring nine of his team's last 16 points to seal the win.

Raymond finished with 18 points, whilst Voskuil was at his influential best with 25.

Following his first-half heroics, Jefferson failed to score again, completing the game with 23 points.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes: Bonprix Biella vs. KTP-Basket

Anton Mirolybov, KTP-Basket Head Coach
"The home team started in a very good way, while we were too soft. In the second quarter we began very aggressive, excellent on defence, good on offense and able to control [Alan] Voskuil and [Benjamin] Raymond. After the break the match changed completely, it was a total different one. It was very physical, tough and we were too tired for this situation."

Miki Kuusisto, KTP-Basket
"I got to the court with big energy and rhythm and put pressure on Voskuil. At the end of the match the win was just a matter of details."

Fabio Corbani, Bonprix Biella Head Coach
"In the first quarter we started well. After that our rivals forced us to lose control of the game and they put some bench players on who blocked our energy.

"In the second half we tried to play with our usual rhythm, even if [Alan] Voskuil had for fouls and [Benjamin] Raymond three. We focused on ourselves and found again our intensity and energy."

Benjamin Raymond, Bonprix Biella
"In the first half we put too much pressure on ourselves, while in the second half we were more aggressive, intense and relaxed and we played freely. I played with four fouls not thinking about it and still always aggressive and controlled at the same time."
