Willie Warren boosted Szolnoki Olaj with a game-high 18 points

Willie Warren scored nine of his game-high 18 points in the last quarter, including a lay-up that put Szolnoki Olaj ahead for good in a 69-68 win over Tsmoki Minsk in Group H on Tuesday.

In a nervous finish, Parrish Petty had a chance to send the game into overtime or even win it, being rewarded with three free-throws after a foul by David Vojvoda, his team down 69-67.

The guard missed his first foul shot, made the second, but was off target again with his third attempt.

Vincent Hunter secured the offensive rebound but failed to convert as Szolnoki hung on to the tightest of wins.

The narrow victory means Szolnoki stay in second spot, tied at 4-2 with Minsk, the head-to-head favouring the Belarussians.

It was a close encounter from the start with neither team being able to open a bigger lead.

The biggest difference in the first half was a 19-13 lead for the home side after Justin Holiday threw down a dunk after a dish from Chris Oliver.

Minsk were not impressed and immediately struck back, taking their first proper lead of the game just before the end of the first half, a triple by Petty making it 35-31.

Both teams kept the intensity up after the break and went into the final frame with Tsmoki slightly ahead, 57-55.

Neither team was able to open a significant lead, setting up the stage for the close finish.

Szolnoki were led by Warren's 18 points, with Holiday adding 14 and Vojvoda 13, nine of them in the first frame.

Minsk wasted 16 points by Branko Mirkovic and a massive 12-points, 12 rebounds double-double by Hunter.
