|Kyle Landry scored a joint game-high 20 points for Triumph|
Triumph Lyubertsy breezed to top spot in Group D of the EuroChallenge as they comfortably beat Gaz Metan Medias 94-72.
The game between the top two in the group was a straight fight for top spot and an even battle was expected between two teams with 4-1 records.
But Triumph had other ideas and an 8-0 run early in the second quarter helped them seize control of the contest as they took a 47-30 lead into the locker rooms at half-time.
They had started the game on an 11-2 tear but Medias battled back to 21-18 when Kyle Shiloh's lay-up ended a 6-0 spurt.
But Courdon Higgins started the decisive run with a jump shot and it was 33-20 when Kyle Landry made a lay-up to move to 13 points with 5:46 of the second quarter still to play.
The hosts continued to ease clear, and led 77-52 on a Higgins jump shot early in the fourth quarter.
There was no way back from there for Medias.
Higgins, who had 35 points in Triumph's 84-81 win last time these teams met and started game second in points in the competition, had 20 points for Triumph, a tally matched by Landry.
Jeremy Chappell added 15.
Shiloh had 19 points for Medias, while Radomir Marojevic collected 13 points with 10 boards.
