Milovan Rakovic was one of four players in double figures for Triumph Lyubertsy

Triumph Lyubertsy overran BC Kyiv 94-58 to move to 2-0 in EuroChallenge Group D in a one-sided encounter in Lyubertsy.

Milovan Rakovic had 16 points while Ivan Lazarev, Courdon Higgins and Kyle Landry each added 13 for Triumph.

The night began with a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of a gas explosion in Moscow on 11th November, which destroyed eight apartments. Triumph announced all proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales at this game would be donated to the victims.

Once the game started, Triumph wasted no time in asserting their superiority, taking a 15-5 lead when Lazarev made a lay-up midway through the first quarter.

Kyiv started the second period with a 7-2 burst to cut the gap but Triumph responded by warming up from three-point range, with back-to-back efforts from Higgins and Jeremy Chappell quickly padding the lead once again.

When Higgins ended the first half with two free throws, the lead was 50-32, but they were just getting started, and ended the game as a contest with an 18-0 run at the start of the third period which took it to 68-34.

There would be not let up down the stretch as Triumph continued to pull away, including a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter to pile the misery on.

Vladyslav Kondratyev led Kyiv with 14 points while Michael Davis had 14 points with 12 rebounds.
