Team TEHO Sport Kotka held off a spirited fourth-quarter comeback from Bakken Bears Aarhus to take an 82-79 win, but both teams are eliminated from play-off contention.

The victory of Ural Ekaterinburg over Tsmoki Minsk earlier in the day had eliminated Kotka before tip-off, but the Bears still had a shot at qualification if they could claim consecutive road victories.

The hosts were in no mood to be generous though, and romped to a 47-point first half behind 14 points from the competition's leading scorer, Sharaud Curry.

The lead swelled to 16 in the third period before the Bears launched one last desperate attempt to stay alive in the race for a quarter-final spot.

Brandon Penn scored the first eight points of the final period himself, before Chris Christoffersen's tip-in brought the teams level.

Young Finnish guard Joonas Lehtoranta made clutch shots down the stretch and, despite Penn's late basket, Ryan Ayers hit the clinching free throws to secure the home team's victory.

Curry led all scorers with 21 points and added eight assists, while Chris Owens had 14 points and Lehtoranta finished with 13.

Penn ended with a team-high 19 for the Bears.
