|Terrell Stoglin recorded 12 points for Cholet Basket|
Cholet Basket cruised to a 74-52 win over ZZ Leiden as they collected their first win Group G of EuroChallenge in convincing fashion.
The French team led from start to finish, bursting into a 20-7 lead and never looking back as they left little doubt as to who was the better team on the night.
The lead grew to 59-32 late in the third quarter before coach Jean-Manuel Sousa called off the dogs, a very impressive job done for the night.
Rudy Jomby led Cholet with 17 points while Eric Chatfield had 13.
Lamine Kante was also among those registered in double figures and it was his three that established that early 13-point lead after four points which all came from the hand of Lamayn Wilson.
A three-pointer from Steeve Ho You Fat made it 32-15 midway through the second quarter and it already looked as though the night was over for Leiden.
The gap was 20 at the break and grew further as Jomby and Chatfield both sank three-pointers, reaching 27 when Chatfield hit another long-ranger with 2:50 left in the third.
Joshua Duinker had 15 points for Leiden with Sean Cunningham adding 12.
ZZ Leiden Head Coach Toon Van Helfteren
"Congratulations to Cholet Basket for this win. It's a good team but tonight we failed on address and we missed too much balls."
Cholet Basket Head Coach Jean-Manuel Sousa
"We will retain only the result of this game. We were ready for this first home game in the EuroChallenge. We had the fans with us. We tried to turn the bench."
Cholet Basket Lamine Kante
"It feels good after three defeats. The game tonight was less physical than against Kataja Basket. For me, to have time like in this game is good for my confidence."
