| Ernest Bremer steadied Royal Hali Gaziantep with nine points|
Royal Hali Gaziantep pulled clear in the second half to move to 2-0 in Group B of EuroChallenge with a 75-63 victory over Atomeromu.
Where the first half saw five lead changes and 10 ties, the second half saw none of either as the hosts took control.
They made their move midway through the third period as Mutlu Akpinar's three-pointer capped a 7-0 burst that made it 53-43.
Atomeromu quickly pulled it back to single figures but could not get the deficit under six until they replied to Ernest Bremer's three-pointer with back-to-back baskets from Rodney Mc Gruder and Akos Kovacs at the start of the fourth quarter to make it 62-57.
They were still in touch as the game clock moved under four minutes to play, but free throws from Oliver Stevic and a Stanley Burrell jump shot restored Gaziantep's 10-point lead as they went up 72-62 with 1:40 left to play.
This time Atomeromu could do little about it as McGruder and Deonta Vaughn saw shots bounce clear.
Jarrod Jones got one back from the free throw line but by then there were only 47 seconds left and Burrell's late three killed off the visitors' challenge.
Stevic led Gaziantep with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Akpinar scored 13 and Burell 12.
Jones had 15 points with nine boards for Atomeromu, with Vaughn and Kovacs scoring 11 each.
Atomerömü Head Coach Branislav Dzunic:
"First of all I think the home team won because they played better than us. Our team played also with a good energy. Before the game we talked in the locker room that we would run, fight and rebound, but basketball is not only about this. Our effort was not enough to win this game."
Atomerömü Player Deonta Vaughn:
"They came with their game plan and stuck to it. We put up a great fight; we now know where we are as a team and where we need to go as a team."
Gaziantep Head Coach Aziz Bekir:
"Today's game was kind of a mental war with ourselves, as we recently lost a couple of games in the Turkish league. This win was good for us. We didn't play really good, but we played a good defence and fought as a team to get this win."
Gaziantep Head Captain Erden Eryuz:
"It was a tough game for us in the beginning. We didn't have enough time to prepare this game because of our busy schedule, so it was a great win for us. In the first half we gave them lots of easy shots, but in the second half we put more hustle in and won the game."
