GAME REPORT

Ekaterinburg Keep Streak Alive

22. Lance Harris (Ural Ekaterinburg)
Lance Harris was a menace under the boards for Ural Ekaterinburg, pulling down 21 rebounds

Ural Ekaterinburg pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Team TEHO Sport Kotka 86-75 and extend their EuroChallenge winning streak to eight games.

Ekaterinburg trailed by nine midway through the second quarter but fought their way back onto level terms in the third period before racing away to victory at the finish of this Group L contest in the Last 16.

An 11-0 fourth quarter run put them in complete control and made sure a late rally from the hosts was not enough.
After a close start, Kotka made their move with an 11-0 run of their own, leading 31-22 when Ryan Ayers nailed a three-pointer.

But in the third quarter three-pointers from Fedor Kliuchnikov and Dmitry Flis fuelled an Ekaterinburg comeback which saw them take the lead on a Flis dunk with 5:07 left in the period.

An intense battle followed but Aaron McGhee's jump-shot two-and-a-half minutes into the fourth quarter began Ekaterinburg's decisive run, and they led 76-63 on McGhee's jump-shot with 5:35 to go.

When Sharaud Curry reeled off four quick points Kotka got it back to 80-75 with 79 seconds to go but they could get no closer.

McGhee finished with 29 points while Kliuchnikov had 13. Lance Harris was a monster on the boards with 21 rebounds and 11 points.

Curry collected 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Chris Owens scored 19 with six boards.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes: Team TEHO Sport Kotka vs. Ural Ekaterinburg

Ural Ekaterinburg Player Lance Harris
"We had a good game as a team and we also shot well. We were strong in rebounds as well. Our big guy (Mc Ghee) scored well today."

Team Teho Sport Kotka Player Ryan Ayers
"Three first quarters we played hard but then they got 11-0 run and after that we couldn't catch them."

Ural Ekaterinburg Head Coach Oleg Okulov
"Our team is very hard to scout because we aren't playing in the major [domestic] league. We used our power on offence and in defence. It's doesn't matter if we had a bad start to the game, the main thing is to be in front at the final whistle."

Team Teho Sport Kotka Head Coach Sami Toiviainen
"We played ok for 35 minutes, but it's not enough against a good team like they are. We were too soft especially in rebounds. We could have won this game with better rebounding."
