|Domen Lorbek chipped in 10 points for Royal Hali Gaziantep|
Royal Hali Gaziantep improved to 3-0 at the top of Group K in the EuroChallenge Last 16 as they saw off struggling Dijon 82-76.
Baris Ermis poured in 20 points for Gaziantep who pulled away in the final minutes to keep Dijon winless.
The form book always pointed to a win for the visitors but Dijon made sure it did not come easy in a fiercely contested game where neither team led by more than seven.
Instead they remained locked together, with 12 lead changes and 11 ties, and it was Dijon who held the edge for most of the way.
After Domen Lorbek had tied the game with 3:54 to go, Mykal Riley split a pair of free throws to give Dijon what would prove to be their final lead of the game.
Gaziantep seized control with eight quick points, five from the hand of Ermis, to lead 73-66 with 2:17 to go.
Dijon thrice got the deficit back to four in the final minutes, but Gaziantep held their nerve at the free throw line as Ernest Bremer and Lorbek made crucial shots to salt the win away.
Bremer finished with 13 points for Gaziantep while Dejan Borovnjak had 11 and Lorbek 10.
Riley and Andre Harris had 14 each for Dijon with Zacherie Moss adding 11 and Terrance Campbell 10.
Gaziantep Head Coach Jurij Zdovc
"Dijon is a very good team, and the game was very difficult... We had a very difficult schedule. The game was very physical, and I congratulate my players for all the efforts. They are very tired."
Gaziantep Player Terrico White
"The win was very important for the qualification, one more win and we are going to the quarter-finals. Dijon was a tough team, physical and difficult to play. They played very well and it was mostly a defence game."
Dijon Head Coach Jean-Louis Borg
"Gaziantep played a very good and tough defence. We made some little mistakes and we took some points on it. It was very good game of EuroChallenge."
Dijon Player Ferdinand Prenom
"The coach said that the turnover were very important and the players who didn't play too much had to show their capacities... The qualification is not impossible; we have to win away in Moscow [against Triumph Lyubertsy], in Turkey [against Gaziantep] and against Ventspils at home."
