GAME REPORT

Triumph Edge Out Dijon

7. Courdon Higgins (Triumph Lyubertsy)
Courdon Higgins scored Triumph's final three points to ice the final result

Triumph Lyubertsy squandered a double-digit lead to set up a tense finish but escaped with a 68-66 win on the road as they beat JDA Dijon in Group K of the EuroChallenge.

Triumph had been looking comfortable when Kyle Landry's three-point play early in the second half put them 47-36 up.

A Courdon Higgins three late in the period made it 53-43 but the hosts reeled off six straight to make it a four-point game as the fourth quarter began.

Mykal Riley's three then cut the gap to just one as the tension rose.

The scoring rate dropped dramatically with the game back on the line, but Sambou Traore's jump-shot with 7:05 left saw Dijon edge in front, 56-55.

Jeremy Chappell's free throws saw it swing back Triumph's way and, after Dijon went almost three minutes without a basket, the visitors were up 61-58 after Landry split a pair of free throws with 3:01 remaining.

Zacherie Moss then hit back-to-back jumpers as the lead changed hands once more, but Alexey Kurtsevich and Higgins simply took it back.

Moss completed a three-point play from the line and the game was tied 65-65 with 48 ticks left.

Anthony Dobbins split a pair of free throws to edge Dijon in front once more but, with 41 seconds left, they would prove the hosts' final points of the night.

Higgins snatched the lead back with a jump-shot and then, after Terrance Campbell's turnover, split a pair of free throws to stretch the lead a little bit further.

Higgins finished with 22 points for Triumph while Landry had 16 and Chappell 11.

Riley's 14 points topped the scoring charts for Dijon while Dobbins and Moss each added 11.

COACH QUOTES

Quotes SASP JDA Dijon Basket vs. BC Triumph Lyubertsy Moscow Region

Dijon Head Coach Jean-Louis Borg
"Good game against a good team. We've played a good defence against a good team that played in the Final Four two years ago. I don't understand the last seconds of the game and the decisions taken."

Dijon Player Zacherie Moss
"Very frustrating game tonight. Great comeback at the end of the game, but it's a difficult loss, especially when you look at the last seconds."

Triumph Head Coach Vasiliy Karasev
"We were aggressive on defence at the beginning. I'm happy with the end of the game despite the comeback of JDA. This team had some very good plays when we slowed down."
