|Terrell Stoglin was Cholet's top scorer with 17 points|
Cholet Basket secured top spot in Group G of the EuroChallenge with an 84-67 victory over closest rivals Bakken Bears Aarhus.
Terrell Stoglin scored 17 points and Lamayn Wilson added 12 with nine rebounds as Cholet led almost throughout to ease to the win they needed.
They began to nose in front late in the first quarter when Lamine Kante's three put them up 25-18, and when Yannis Morin followed Stoglin's three-pointer with a dunk early in the third period the gap had grown to 32-22.
Another Morin dunk stretched the advantage to 48-32 2:55 before half-time.
The Bears briefly entertained ideas of a rally in the third period, scoring the first six points to make it 53-43, but Cholet's response was swift and decisive as they hit back with eight unanswered points.
By the time Eric Chatfield nailed a three-pointer to end the quarter it was 66-47 - all the lead the hosts would need.
Brandon Penn led the Bears with 16 points while Thomas Laerke added 14 and Kenneth Barker 12.
Bakken Bears player Christian Lindberg
"They started the game pretty physically and took too many rebounds. We didn't play as aggressive as we should have, especially in the first half."
Bakken Bears head coach Ville Tuominen
"I think Cholet showed today the level difference of quality between the two teams. They were stronger, bigger and more athletic, especially after our big guy Christoffersen took early fouls. After that, we had no respond for the rebounding. Congratulations to them. For us, it's a great experience to be there and to play in this kind of atmosphere against this kind of team. Luckily we are qualified for the Last 16 so we will have 6 more games.
Cholet Basket head coach Eric Chatfield
"We played pressure defence, we played together. Everyone was involved on offence and defence and this is the way to win games."
Cholet Basket head coach Jean-Manuel Sousa
"After our defeat in the French Championship, we took this game seriously with a good beginning, so after it was easier and better for us. We played aggressive on both sides of the court and thanks to this, we were confident for this victory."
