|Zvonko Buljan led Telekom Baskets Bonn to a valuable road win in Turkey|
Telekom Baskets Bonn claimed a valuable road win at Türk Telekom on Tuesday night to move closer to a place in the Last 16 of the EuroChallenge.
Led by 24-year-old forward Zvonko Buljan's 26 points, Bonn prevailed 94-81.
The result has left the German club with a 3-2 record in Group G and put them on the inside track to a place in the next phase of the competition.
Türk Telekom, who got 27 points from Ali Karadeniz, fell to 2-3.
Bonn led for most of the first half but early in the third quarter, the Ankara club's Ceyhun Altay hit two straight three-pointers for a 47-45 Türk Telekom advantage.
Jared Jordan answered with a shot from the arc for the visitors, however, and Fabian Thülig followed with a three-point play.
Chris Ensminger capped the spurt with a lay-up for a 53-47 Bonn advantage.
Andrej Mangold's three-pointer at the end of the third quarter gave Michael Koch's team its biggest lead of the game at 70-58.
The lead grew to 15 points in the fourth quarter and Telekom Baskets ended up winning by 13.
Jordan had 11 points and 11 assists by the end of the contest.
Telekom Baskets head coach Michael Koch:
"It was a very important game against a strong Turk Telekom team without Darius Washington and Mehmet Okur. We played a very good game. Three or four players had double digits also we were better at rebounding. Congrats to my team for the victory."
Türk Telekom Coach Timuçin Meriç:
"First of all we wanted to win more than Telekom Baskets but we had injured players. Darius Washington was not able to play with us who is a very important player for us and Simas played but he was also injured before the game. We were too bad at rebounding and fast breaks. We didnt play as we had planned. Congrats to Bonn."
Türk Telekom player Bekir Yarangüme:
"We failed getting rebounds and we didnt get focus on the game completely. We did our best but we made too many mistakes."
