GAME REPORT

EKA AEL Lemesos 89 vs. Olympia Larissa 80

After capturing an important win last week against Iraklis, fourth place EKA AEL Lemesos hosted last place Olympia Larissa in Group D of the FIBA Europe League. Drawing off energy from the more than 2000 supporters tonight, EKA AEL defeated the Greek visitors 89-80.

From the start of the game, EKA AEL took control and led 27-19 at the end of the first quarter. Frankie King and Nikola Razic of EKA AEL, both posted strong second quarters and helped their team take a 13-point lead at the half (50-37).

The home team maintained their decisive play in the third quarter and furthered their lead to 67-50 at the start of the fourth quarter. Chrysostomos Christodoulou who replaced an injured Michael MacDonald in the second quarter, came alive in the fourth quarter. He added six points and five rebounds in the final ten minutes to spark his team to an 89-80 victory.

Olympia Larissa perhaps can attribute their loss to a limited number of free-throw attempts. In comparison with the home team's 40 trips to the line, Olympia had a mere 16 attempts converting on only nine.

EKA AEL was led by Frankie King's 26 points and Nikola Razic's 21. Ioannis Lappas and Tyrone Grant both posted 15 points for the visitors.
