|Montenegro's top scorer Petar Popovic finished with 19 points and 11 assists|
Montenegro knocked off Bosnia and Herzegovina 85-64 to claim 11th place in their maiden U18 European Championship.
Petar Popovic scored 19 points while Vasilije Knezevic had 13 points, Emir Hadzibegovic and Milos Krivokapic both had 12 and Zoran Nikolic collected 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Bosnia and Herzegovina were paced by 21 points from Nedim Dedovic with Aleksandar Lazic adding 18 in the loss.
Turning Point: Montenegro were leading 44-38 early in the third quarter but Krivokapic scored six points in a 10-0 run to open a 54-38 lead. Bosnia and Herzegovina did not get closer than 11 points the rest of the game.
Game Hero: In addition to his 19 points, Popovic also had two rebounds and 11 assists.
Stats Don't Lie: Montenegro shot 53% for the game compared to 34% for Bosnia and Herzegovina and out-rebounded their opponents 48 to 26. Montenegro picked up 16 fast-break points to three for Bosnia and Herzegovina and dominated the middle with 40 points in the paint to 18 for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Bottom Line: In their first summer in Division A, Montenegro picked up five wins to grab 11th place. Bosnia and Herzegovina were playing their second summer at Division A and finished 12th.
