|Viktor Pulpán delivered a remarkable all-round performance for the Czechs|
The Czech Republic stayed alive in the fight to remain in Division A of the U18 European Championship by knocking off Belgium 69-61 in the Classification Games for 13th to 16th Place.
Matej Svoboda paced the Czechs with 16 points while David Pekárek had 12, Simon Pursl 11 and Viktor Pulpán scored 10 points.
Belgium will drop to Division B despite 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals from Thomas Akyazili.

Turning Point: The Czechs were leading 49-46 when Pulpán made two free throws and then a fast-break layup for a 53-46 lead. Pulpán later made it 61-53 and the Czech bent but would not break in holding the lead the rest of the way.
Game Hero: Pulpán had 10 points but also picked up seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one block.
Stats Don't Lie: The Czechs held Belgium to just 17% from three-point range while grabbing 17 second-chance points to 12 for Belgium. They also blocked seven Belgian shots.
The Bottom Line: While Belgium will take on Poland in a match-up of teams already relegated to Division B playing for 15th place, the Czech Republic face off against England with the winner staying in Division A and the loser getting the drop.
