|Stanislav Kudrya and Andrii Shalamov combined for 27 points for Ukraine|
A 68-63 win to Ukraine relegated Slovenia from the U18 European Championship's Division A, however Ukraine will still require a victory in Sunday's classification game for 13th and 14th place in order to avoid being relegated themselves.
Both teams were eager to try their luck from outside in the first half and with neither experiencing much success an even opening 20 minutes ensued.
It wasn't until the final two minutes of the second quarter that Ukraine were able to establish the first notable run of the game, scoring six straight points to take a five-point lead into halftime.
With scores tied at three-quarter time, Ukraine found another run and jumped ahead by eight, but Slovenia would score 10 of the next 11 points to take a four-point lead with three minutes remaining.
Yevgen Sakhniuk played a big role in Ukraine cutting the margin down to one before a Stanislav Kudrya triple sent them ahead 62-60 with a minute and a half remaining. Lay-ups to Kudrya and Andrii Shalamov effectively sealed the result.
Sakhniuk and Kudrya led Ukraine with 17 and 15 points respectively.
Matic Rebec's 20 points topped Slovenia.
