|Sten Olmre exploded in the final minutes to take Estonia home|
Sten Olmre scored seven unanswered points in the last four minutes to lead Estonia to a 59-54 win over Norway at the U18 European Championship Men Division B in Strumica, F.Y.R. of Macedonia on Friday.
Anders Nymo's jump shot had given Norway a 54-50 lead with 3:20 left to play.
But that is when Olmre exploded hitting on two lay-ups either side of a huge three-pointer before converting two free throws.
This took the shooting guard's total to a game-high 17 - ahead of Norway's Sjur Berg who had 13 - and saw Estonia improve to 2-0.
Germany enjoyed a much more comfortable, 79-35 victory over Austria to stay level with Estonia.
The Germans had four players score in double figures, Lukas Meisner and Stefan Ilzhöfer totaling 13 each while Björn Rohwer and Christian Sengfelder both had ten.
Jakob Pöltl led Austria's challenge with 10 points but they were out of the game early as they slipped 25-9 behind by the end of the first quarter.
The lead passed 30 after a 13-0 run in the third quarter as Germany finished with a field goal percentage above 50 whereas Austria's was below 28.
The Netherlands are also yet to taste defeat after beating Georgia 71-60.
An early 9-0 run sparked by the first of Daan Rosenmuller's game-high 20 points put the Dutch up 11-4 and in control.
Georgia refused to go away and continued to battle behind Kakhaber Tomaradze's 13 points.
But they were punished for their mistakes as the Dutch got 24 of their points from turnovers, Julius van Sauers adding 12 points and 10 boards.
