Germany is still perfect in the Classification Round of the OMNITEL U18 European Championship after a 73-66 victory over Sweden at the Lietuvos Rytas Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania on Tuesday afternoon.

Ole Wendt was the top scorer of Germany with 18 points and 8 rebounds followed by Martin Breunig with 13 points, Ole's twin brother Lars Wendt added 12 and Patrick Heckmann finished with 12 as well.
Marcus Eriksson led the losing side with 15 points and Charles Barton added 14.
Philipp Neumann of Germany was limited to only 6 points and 6 shots from the field, but Sweden still had to chase after their opponent the whole four quarters.
The game was decided before the last period, after Germany held a 21 point lead, 60-39 after 30 minutes, but Sweden didn't give up and cut 17 points from the gap to be just 4 points behind inside the last minute, before losing by 7.
Ole Wendt led Germany to a 19-8 lead after 8 minutes, but Sweden had William Magarity and Viktor Gaddefors to create a new tune to the game before the half, with just a 31-28 result after 20 minutes.
Lars Wendt hit twice from the arc to ignite the 2nd half run, and a lay up by Neumann made it 46-32 with 15 minutes to play.
After Ole Wendt scored from the arc and Heckmann scored twice in the last minute of the 3rd period, Germany held the mentioned 60-39 entering the last quarter with confidence.
Erikkson and Barton found a good groove and with 58 ticks to play Barton hit a big three pointer off a pass by Eriksson, but the twins added the last 3 points and Barton missed twice to finalize the outcome of the game.
Germany will take on Bulgaria tomorrow while Sweden and Ukraine will meet for a tough battle on the 2nd spot in the group.
