Maraker Is Week 4 Top Performer

04 December 2014
EUROCHALLENGE

12. Christian Maraker (Boras Basket)
Christian Maraker registered an efficiency rating of 39, the highest of the EuroChallenge season so far

Christian Maraker of Boras Basket came up with a monstrous double-double display on Tuesday night to walk away with EuroChallenge Regular Season Week 4 Top Statistical Performer honours.

The Swedish international registered an efficiency index rating of 39, the highest by any player so far in this EuroChallenge season, during his team's 90-70 win over Bakken Bears Aarhus at home in Group C action.

In order to reach that mark, the 32-year-old power forward collected a career-high 20 rebounds to go with his 22 points on 10-for-13 from the floor and added one assist and one blocked shot, in 30 minutes of playing time.

The veteran Swedish power forward's 20 rebounds is the best showing on the glass in the EuroChallenge since Lance Harris of Ural Ekaterinburg had brought down 21 boards in his team's 86-75 win over KTP-Basket, last January.

Maraker, who became a senior Swedish international at EuroBasket 2003, had scored 22 points in a European competition either with club or country only once previously in his career.

Robert Arnold of Kataja Basket also came up with career-high and season-high figures on Tuesday night, albeit he could not savour his personal success the way Maraker did.

The American shooting guard poured in an outlandish 42 points on 13-of-24 shooting from the floor and added five assists and three rebounds, but this impressive one-man mission was not enough to prevent his team's 102-92 loss at JSF Nanterre.

While Arnold could not prolong Kataja's stay in the qualification race in Group E, his Tuesday performance was rated at 34 in terms of efficiency and he takes second place this week, behind Maraker.

Another American-born shooting guard, who however unlike Arnold saw his efforts rewarded, completes the Week 4 Statistical Top Performer's podium.

Alan Voskuil of Bonprix Biella went 5-for-8 from behind the three-point arc (8-for-12 from the field) as he collected 25 points and added four assists and three boards to power the Italian side's 81-77 comeback win over KTP-Basket on Wednesday night.

Biella's sharp-shooter, whose Wednesday display is rated at 28 in terms of efficiency, continues as the leading scorer in the EuroChallenge with 25.8 points per game on an impressive 47.6% field goal percentage from downtown (5/10.5 three-pointers on average).
