BVV ŽS Brno 87 BC Boncourt 75

06 November 2003

Petr Benda (Brno) grabbed a season high 19 rebounds against Boncourt

The visiting team from Switzerland relied on its three American players, but with Jan Pavlik’s outside shooting and scoring from forwards Jiri Černošek and Michal Křemen, Brno controlled the game.

The Czechs took an early lead and built a 15-point margin, but suddenly they began to play very nervously. Brno turned the ball over 8 times in the second quarter and Boncourt won the period 21-8 and took the lead.

By the end of the first half the game was wide open, as Roman Imgrüth's last second basket gave Boncourt a one point advantage.

The hosts had a hard time to just stay in the game. They committed a lot of personal fouls and so things just did not look very favourable half way through the third quarter for them.

But, five 3-pointers from Pavlík steadied the ship, allowing Brno to regain control of the game and take the lead. Brno held their composure in the final 10 minutes and finished with a 12-point victory.

Pavlik finished with 20 points (5/9 3-point shooting), 5 rebounds and 7 asssists. 21 year old Petr Benda added 15 points, to go along with 19 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 blocks.

Alonzo Richmond was Boncourt's top scorer with 17 points.

Game MVP: Jan Pavlík
