Mitteldeutscher BC 96 Benetton Olympic 73

The MBC “Wolves” won tonight’s game with 96:73 against Swiss top team Benetton Olympic Fribourg. The MBC had the worse start. After five minutes Vyacheslav Rosnovskiy made a three pointer for the 17:7 lead of the Swiss team. MBC Weißenfels was led by Marius Petravicius, who made 8 points and 7 rebounds during the next five minutes. After the first qaurter Fribourg lead with 24:23.

The second quarter Mitteldeutscher Basketball Club put a strong pressure on Fribourg and allowed only eleven points in the entire quarter. Mainly the young guys of Henrik Dettmann got their chances and built up a solid half time lead (48:35).

During the last twenty minutes the game was decided by a 19 point difference against Fribourg. Today’s top scorer Paul Burke sank a 2-pointer for the 56:37. After the third quarter the score was 74:57.

The best player on the court was Marijonas Petravicius, who showed a double-double with 14 points and twelve rebounds. MBC team captain Stephen Arigbabu sank the last point with a free throw to make the final score 96:73.

Mitteldeutscher BC now leads Group B in the Central Conference of the FIBA Europe Cup Men, one point ahead of the Hungarian` Debrecen.
