Miroslava Mistinova contributed 16 points and six rebounds for Slovakia

The Slovak Republic retained their Division A status as they came from behind to take down Belgium 55-46 in classification action at the U16 European Championship Women.

Belgium's Celien Iliaens ran the floor to connect on a jump-shot, ending a tight first quarter at 10-10. Her team then finished the second period strongly, with a 7-2 run capped by Fauve Bastiaenssen's three-pointer at the buzzer, which gave the Belgian team an eight-point lead at the break.

The Slovak Republic worked their way back into the game behind a 9-0 run, and Lucia Striesova's shot put her team into the lead. Miroslava Mistinova's shot then capped a 12-2 run to begin the fourth quarter, with Radka Stasova instrumental, scoring all of her 8 points for the game during the run.

Belgium tried to save the game, but the Slovakian team held their nerves at the free-throw line to seal victory. Mistinova had 16 points and six rebounds and was ably supported by Veronika Remenarova's 12 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks.

Serena-Lynn Geldof had 14 points and eight rebounds for Belgium, who will face hosts Bulgaria on Saturday with the losing team being relegated to Division B for 2014.
