Willemijn Kallenberg Awarded MVP

11 August 2009

Netherlands star Willemijn Kallenberg had reason for a double celebration in Tallin as she was crowned the Tournament MVP.

The shooting guard was particularly influential in helping her team achieve success during the last two days of the tournament when she poured in 29 points across the semi-final and the final.

Kallenberg averaged 9.7 points per game and 2.2 assists but also showed an appetite for the intangibles ingames which helped her seal the award.

Kallenberg was MVP but there was also an All Tournament Team:

Gloria Sikiric of fellow finalists Croatia, Jelena Vucetic of Montenegro, Sonia Ursu from Romania, Sabina Oroszova of Slovak Republic and Sharon Lammerink from the Netherlands.

Fair Play Trophy was awarded to team Denmark.
