|Francesca Dotto still produced 10 points and five steals|
In their last game in Group E Italy defeated Germany 77-64 on Wednesday, to enter the quarter-finals of the U20 European Championship Women on a five-game win streak.
Italy never trailed, establishing control from the get-go after opening the game with an 8-0 run.
Despite Germany coming close numerous times, they never properly threatened and Italy pulled away with a 17-3 spurt that gave them a 64-47 lead early in the fourth quarter.
Once again, it was Italy's defence that was too much for their opponents as they made 16 steals that led to a 20-7 advantage in points from turnovers.
Ilaria Milazzo led with 24 points on 4-for-5 three-point shooting, and had five steals, while Francesca Dotto in limited minutes on the floor had 10 points and five steals. Elisa Penna also scored 10, while Carla Bellscheidt and Katharina Müller each had 10 points for Germany who have now lost five games in a row.
