|Members of the 1970 Golden Generation reunited in Ljubljana on Sunday|
Members of the Yugoslav team which won gold in Ljubljana in 1970 reunited at the sight of their famous victory on Sunday, upon the invitation of Slovenian President Borut Pohur.
Head coach Ranko Žeravica, his assistant Lazar Lečić, captain Ivo Daneu and fellow players Dragutin Čermak, Nikola Plečaš, Petar Skansi, Damir Šolman, Rato Tvrdić, Aljoša Žorga and Boris Kristančič took up the President's invitation and at half-time in a friendly game between Slovenia and Russia, they were honoured by the Slovenian Basketball Federation, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance in the process.
"After all this time we are happy to have an opportunity to meet each other. A lot of our squad members live around the world. Ranko Žeravica is in Zaragoza, some are even in the USA. This is an ideal opportunity to bring back memories," said the team's small forward, Damir Šolman.
"The emotions are huge and we are glad to have an opportunity to remember something nice. It's a fantastic thing to be a guest at a ceremony like this and it would be a disgrace for me not to attend it, if my presence means that such an event is even more magnificent," added Nikola Plečaš, echoing the thoughts of his former teammate, Šolman.
