Cappie Pondexter kept her cool from the foul line to extend Fenerbahce's unbeaten run at home to 16 games at the expense of winless Nadezhda Orenburg, with a 71-69 success in EuroLeague Women Group B on Wednesday.
Thanks in no small part to a 16-2 run to open the game, Fenerbahce went into the final stanza holding a 55-48 advantage.
But some fluid fast-break basketball allowed the visitors to claw their way back before Pondexter was put on the line at 69-67 with just five seconds remaining.
The American sunk both attempts however, giving the Turkish side a four-point edge and rendering Dewanna Bonner's buzzer beater retort meaningless.
Pondexter's compatriot Angel McCoughtry earlier got the hosts off to a great start, scoring 10 of her game-high 25 points in the opening 10 minutes.
But three-point jump shots from Zoi Dimitrakou and Natalia Zhedik sparked Nadezhda's own 16-2 sequence as the visitors drew level at 18.
The hosts pulled away again to 55-41 as McCoughtry and Isabelle Yacoubou got into the paint but once again the visitors refused to go away and managed to get back within one at 55-54.
Dimitrakou scored seven of her team-high 21 points in the fourth quarter but Pondexter's poise was pivotal.
