|Veteran guard Clara Bermejo Moreno has extended her contract with Rivas Ecopolis|
Playmaker and club captain Clara Bermejo Moreno, has inked a contract to stay with Spanish side Rivas Ecopolis for a sixth consecutive season.
It means the guard will continue to further build on her record as having the most appearances of any player in the history of the club, with recently appointed head coach Jose Hernandez able to call upon her vast wealth of experience and knowledge.
The 32-year-old worked with Hernandez previously in Salamanca and will line-up alongside former Perfumerias Avenida colleague Kelly Schumacher who was recently signed by Rivas.
The trio won the Liga Femenina league and cup double back in 2006, with Moreno Bermejo playing for two years in EuroLeague Women before making the switch to Rivas.
But, Moreno Bermejo was most influential in EuroLeague Women for Rivas back during 2009-10, when she averaged an excellent 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds as her new club started life in the competition with a spectacular seven straight wins.
The Rivas roster is really beginning to take shape now and supporters will be particularly delighted their club sealed a deal with Frida Eldebrink of Sweden prior to EuroBasket Women 2013 where she delivered terrific performances and booked a spot on the All Tournament Team.
