Pelin Bilgic led Turkey with 12 points

The host nation Turkey handled Lithuania 81-44 in the last game of Group D on Saturday, to stay one of three unbeaten teams at the U20 European Championship Women in Samsun.

In a game that had no implications for the next round, Turkey led from start to finish after building a 29-13 lead in less than 13 minutes. The big lead gave them complete control of the game, and the hosts continued increasing their advantage in each quarter to ease to their third victory in as many games.

Defence and the transition game really made the difference for Turkey which outscored Lithuania 20-0 on fastbreak points.

With all the Turkey players getting minutes, Pelin Bilgic led with 12 points, Özge Kavurmacioglu netted 11, while Tilbe Senyürek had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Ieva Kazlauskaite scored 18 points for Lithuania which faces battle for survival in Division A.
