|Kamila Hoskova had an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double to assist the Czech Republic to victory |
A scorching finish by the Czech Republic lifted them to a convincing 74-52 win against Slovenia and into 11th place at the U18 European Championship for Women in Vinkovci.
Leading 44-42 and with the contest still delicately balanced, the Czech players found real momentum during the last 15 minutes of the game to blow their opponents completely out of contention.
They outscored Slovenia 30-10 to power their way to victory, riding on the back of a sparkling 18-point haul by Mariana Opocenska.
They were also able to count on 11 points and 11 boards from Kamila Hoskova who helped her team to dominate on the glass.
As usual, it was Eva Lisec who ploughed the main pathway towards a possible victory for Slovenia.
She delivered 18 points and seven rebounds but it was not sufficient enough to prevent Slovenia finishing their time on Croatian soil with a third straight loss.
