It is never too early to start exploring the secrets of basketball. But even learning to bounce the ball at an early age is subject to following rules and a certain methodology.

The FIBA Europe U14 Get Together in Munich, Germany last weekend was exactly about that: introducing the participants to a set of new knowledge base that aims to benefit the development of players aged 14 and under.

The event drew more than 120 participants from 32 countries, including representatives of National Federations and the FIBA Europe Youth Commission members.

The Federations had a chance to showcase their work at mini-basket and U14 level while five prominent European coaches lectured on subjects varying from pedagogics and fundamentals at U14 level to developing offensive concepts and strength and conditioning for U14 players.

"The importance of mini-basket and development of basketball fundamentals at the U14 age group is more evident than ever," commented FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin. "FIBA Europe is committed in help creating the right conditions for this development to grow."
