|Milka Bjelica is headed to Prague to replace injured Jana Vesela|
ZVVZ USK Prague were dealt a cruel blow when forward Jana Vesela suffered a serious knee injury at EuroBasket Women 2013 and have since reacted by turning to Milka Bjelica as a replacement for the 2013-14 season.
The Montenegrin will link up with fellow national team forward Jelena Dubljevic in the Czech capital, having played for Romanian outfit Municipal Targoviste and also Besiktas of Turkey last season.
ZVVZ USK Prague will be the sixth different EuroLeague Women club for Bjelica during the last seven seasons, having previously played with Ros Casares, TEO Vilnius, Lotos Gdynia, Wisla Can-Pack and Targoviste.
Bjelica celebrated her birthday last month, but EuroBasket Women left little cause for celebration, with the 32-year-old suffering a drastic cut in court time and being handed just 7.8 minutes per game.
She has since expressed her dissatisfaction publically in her homeland and it has seemingly thrown her future participation into doubt.
But, her first focus will now be on helping Prague cope with the loss of Vesela, who is out until next year after going down last month in France, playing for Czech Republic in their opening EuroBasket Women 2013 fixture against Belarus.
Once the news of her ACL injury was confirmed, General Manager Marek Kucera, who was present at the tournament, went searching for a replacement and decided Bjelica was the best option available to provide some cover.
