|Elizaveta Komarova of Russia harvested 12 points|
Russia bounced back from their defeat to Spain by inflicting a heavy 62-42 defeat on hosts Croatia at the U18 European Championship Women in Vinkovci to seal runners-up spot in Group B.
Croatia struggled to keep an aggressive Russian team off the glass and that was a big factor in a game which Russia always controlled once the opening five minutes had elapsed.
At 23-17, Croatia were just about hanging on and trying to keep pace, but Russia had a real boost with a 10-2 run either side of half-time with a three-pointer by Elizaveta Komarova starting the second half.
Things then deteriorated rapidly for Croatia as Russia continued to turn up the heat, making it 54-30 in the fourth quarter as Ekaterina Safanova converted from downtown.
Croatia committed 22 turnovers and combined with an inability to match up successfully under the hoop, it proved to be a long night.
Komarova finished with 12 points for the winning team, whilst Tatiana Sema led the way on the boards by harvesting 11 rebounds.
Antonija Chiabov was the one inside player from Croatia to make an impact with a creditable double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
