EUROBASKET WOMEN QUALIFIERS

Italy's Raffaella Masciadri made six of 11 field goals, finishing with 14 points.

Italy recorded their first win of the EuroBasket Women Qualification Round with an 86-37 victory over visiting Luxembourg.

The Azzurre led from start to finish and had their biggest lead late in the fourth quarter at 84-29.

Ilaria Zanoni hit a couple of shots from long range and finished with 16 points while veteran Raffaella Masciadri drilled a two three-balls as well en route to 14 points.

Italy scored the game's first six points and then led 15-4 run after a three-pointer and jump shot by Masciadri.

By the end of the first quarter, the Italians were on top 22-8 and they had a 48-23 lead by half-time.

The Italians had lost their first game of the summer to Latvia so they are now 1-1 in Group E while Luxembourg have fallen to 0-3 after defeats to Finland, Latvia and now the Azzurre.

Luxembourg were led by Nadia Mossong's 13 points.
