Ukraine downed Poland 57-48, and now enter the next stage of the U20 European Championship Women in Samsun as the fifth seeded team in the classification games for 9th to 16th place.

After falling behind early on, Ukraine grabbed their first lead midway through the third quarter.

Olga Krayevska and Miriam Uro-Nile hit triples in an ensuing 12-4 spurt, and Darya Zavidna added one from downtown for a 48-38 Ukraine advantage.

To be sure of winning the group, Ukraine needed victory of seven points or more, and a triple from Miriam Uro-Nile with four seconds to go gave them the margin they needed.

In victory, Ukraine hit six three-pointers, compared to 1-for-21 shooting behind the arc from Poland.

Lyudmyla Naumenko had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Vita Gorobets also scored 13 in victory.

Dominika Owczarzak netted 12 for Poland.
