|Jelena Dubljevic recorded 12 points for ZVVZ USK Prague|
ZVVZ USK Prague are back at the EuroLeague Women Group C summit after breezing their way to a 63-46 home floor victory against CCC Polkowice.
Natalia Hejkova may not have been able to get her team playing their most fluent offence, but at the other end of the court her players were in an uncompromising mood after a slow start.
After giving up 19 points in the first 10 minutes to trail by four points, they made the necessary defensive adjustments which formed an impenetrable wall for the remainder of the game.
The visitors suddenly found scoring seriously tough and not least during the second quarter, when Prague almost completed a shutout by allowing a meagre four points.
In fact, after their tepid opening, the hosts cranked up the defence to such an extent that they only allowed 27 further points across the next three quarters.
Polkowice couldn't get enough shots to drop from long-distance and with little production against the rock solid Prague frontcourt, the home side were able to grow in influence, with a 15-4 run in the third quarter more or less sealing the deal.
Prague collected a fourth win in five home games, with center Milka Bjelica standing out by contributing eight points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Valeriya Musina had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists for the losing team.
