EuroBasket 2013 hosts Slovenia have announced their preparations schedule at a press conference on Tuesday.

The team will gather on 19 July and play a total of 12 preparation games, with ten games being played on home soil and the remaining two at a four-team tournament in Belgrade.

The Slovenians will host, among others, fellow EuroBasket participants Turkey, Serbia, Russia and Italy.

Bozidar Maljkovic's men will play their first friendly game on 26 July against Poland and close their preparations with a game against France on 31 August in Stozice Arena.

The schedule has been worked out in detail, and Matej Avanzo, director of the Slovenian national teams, is confident that Slovenia will be prepared for the start of the EuroBasket in the best possible way.

"Since we are hosting EuroBasket 2013 this year, we wanted to take care of all of the organisational matters as soon as possible," he said.

"We will use 8 of our 10 domestic preparation games to test all five halls at the venues of EuroBasket 2013.

"The plan of the preparations is already perfected, and with that we are becoming one of the best organised national teams," he concluded.

At the EuroBasket Slovenia will face Georgia, Poland, reigning champions Spain, Croatia and the Czech Republic in Group C, playing their games in Celje.

The other three First Round groups will be staged in Jesenice, Koper and Ljubljana.

EuroBasket 2013 will be held from 4-22 September.
