Rivas Ecopolis have taken a significant step towards potentially delivering domestic silverware and reaching the EuroLeague Women Final Eight after signing Swedish center Louice Halvarsson.

The 25-year-old will join forces with her fellow Swedish national team star Frida Eldebrink and could make her debut for the Spanish club this weekend in the Copa de La Reina.

Halvarsson averaged 5.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last summer at EuroBasket Women and has now got herself back to full health after a hand injury sustained in France.

She recently completed her rehabilitation by stepping out for former club Telge Basket in her homeland.

Having spent the last couple of full seasons playing in Italian basketball, Halvarsson will now play for her third team in EuroLeague Women, having previously gained court time with Lotos Gdynia and BK Imos Brno.

The arrival of Halvarsson further strengthens the Rivas frontcourt, which had been left short after a season-ending injury to EuroBasket Women gold medallist, Laura Gil.

Rivas will complete their regular season schedule next week with a Group C game in Hungary against Uniqa Euroleasing Sopron.
