The Czech Republic recorded their first Group A success at the U18 European Championship Women in Vinkovci with an 81-36 second day rout of Belarus.
There had been little to suggest how events would unfold after a first quarter which witnessed no daylight between the teams as both struggled offensively, leaving the game tied up.
Indeed it was still level at 13 midway through the second period, but the Czech Republic put together a stunning 22-4 run either side of half-time to take the game away from Belarus.
It then proved to be a completely one-sided affair as they got even hotter as the game progressed, capitalising on an unthinkable 40 turnovers by Belarus.
The fast-break scores and superior depth of the Czechs was critical. They poured in 44 bench points and were absolutely rampant as the Belarus defence buckled under an incessant tide.
Mariana Opocenska had an efficient 12 points and useful eight rebounds for the Czechs, whilst Eva Mouckova dished up seven assists.
Viyaleta Kiuliak had 15 rebounds and nine points for the losing team who slipped to a second defeat in as many days.
