|Eva Lisec was instrumental for Slovenia with 23 points and 11 boards|
A sublime performance from Eva Lisec paved the way for Slovenia to get off the mark at the U18 European Championship Women as they rolled past the Slovak Republic with a 63-41 win in Vukovar.
Lisec was unstoppable and fashioned a monstrous double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds on 8-of-11 floor shooting to condemn Slovakia to their second loss.
With an important cameo of 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists by Klara Zupancic underpinning the contribution of Lisec, Slovenia always had the upper edge.
They started and finished the game in great style, firstly roaring into a 20-13 lead and then turning up the heat after the Slovak Republic had narrowed to within four points at the start of the third quarter.
Seven consecutive points which were wrapped up by a Lisec jump shot took Slovenia clear again and they wrapped up the game with a huge final quarter.
They threw a defensive blanket over Slovakia to eliminate any prospect of a comeback and held them to just five points as they coasted over the finishing line.
Katarina Piperkova finished with a creditable five steals for the losing side.
