Turkey celebrated Hedo Turkoglu's achievement of a milestone on Friday by announcing their 12-man squad for EuroBasket 2013 and clinching victory in their final warm-up game before the tournament.

Turkoglu was honoured by Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) president Turgay Demirel for playing his 300th game with the national team, prior to Turkey's friendly clash with Poland at Abdi İpekçi Arena.

The charismatic 34-year-old guard/forward first suited up for Turkey at the 1995 European Championship for Cadets and made his debut with the seniors in a major tournament at EuroBasket 1999, in France.

Despite his long career in the NBA, Turkoglu never missed out on a EuroBasket tournament since '99 and will make his record-eighth consecutive appearance in Slovenia, starting from Wednesday.

The Turkish legend is joined on the 12-strong team that will represent Turkey at EuroBasket 2013 by Doğuş Balbay, Sinan Güler, Kerem Gönlüm, Semih Erden, Serhat Çetin, Oğuz Savaş, Ömer Onan, Emir Preldzic, Ender Arslan, Ömer Faruk Aşık and Ersan İlyasova.

Turkey will have one of the rosters with the highest average age in Slovenia, with 24-year-old Dogus Balbay as the youngest member of the team.

Young playmaker Kenan Sipahi, who was called to join the senior squad in preparations shortly after leading the U18 team to the gold medal in July's European Championship and earning tournament MVP honours, was the last player to be cut from the EuroBasket roster.

Head coach Bogdan Tanjevic announced the 12-player list just before Turkey's last game in preparations, on Friday night.

Playing in front of their home crowd in Istanbul, Turkey prevailed 81-68 over the Polish on the back of convincing displays by some of their major stars.

Ilyasovapaved the way with 15 points, Turkoglu fiished with 11 points, four rebounds and five assists and fellow veteran Kerem Gönlüm also had 11 points.

For Poland, Maciej Lampe finished with 11 points and Marcin Gortat picked up a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in losing efforts.

Turkey will play in First Round Group D at EuroBasket, together with Sweden, Finland, Russia, Greece and Italy.
